Jacob Isaac Rappoport Foundation Campaign
to Cure SMA

After much consideration, we have decided that the time has come to take a new approach to raising funds. Therefore, we are taking a sabbatical from organizing Jacob’s Run, Walk & Roll. To continue the vital supportthat JIRF provides to the SMA community, this letter launches our “2018 Shooting Star Campaign to Cure SMA.”

Our goal is to raise $50,000 to support the programs that help propel additional advances in SMA research and help affected families. We ask that you consider making the same donation that you have made in the past. We are eternally grateful for your continued support.

For the past 15 years, The Jacob Isaac Rappoport Foundation (JIRF) has hosted Jacob’s Run, Walk & Roll to Cure Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Two days before Christmas 2016, Cure SMA announced the first ever FDA approved treatment for SMA, a drug called Spinraza. It has been miraculous to watch so many children gain strength and reach milestones they did not think possible. Your support has been instrumental in helping to reach this milestone, but our work is not done.

Our greatest wish to be able to watch our son grow up in our home can not come true. However, every year we meet children and their families who desperately cling to that wish. Please help us make it come true for them.

The time is now. No donation is too big or too small.

Thank you very much for your support,
Shaina and Adi Rappoport
