Celebrate the joy of reading with Cure SMA’s Adults with SMA Virtual Book Club, which has been generously sponsored by Biogen!
We will kick off this new program by reading Disability Visibility, edited by Alice Wong. Disability Visibility, First-Person Stories from the Twenty-first Century, brings together an incredible collection of voices from lawyers and politicians to authors and artists to share “a glimpse into vast richness and complexity of the disabled experience, highlighting the passions, talents, and everyday lives of this community.”
We will be holding our first 90-minute virtual discussion on Zoom on Thursday, January 28th at 8:00pm EST / 7:00pm CST / 5:00pm PST to dive into the first half of the book (Part 1 & Part 2)
We will continue unpacking the thought-provoking anecdotes and perspectives of the second half of the book (Part 3 & Part 4) in another 90-minute virtual discussion on Thursday, February 18th at 8:00pm EST / 7:00pm CST / 5:00pm PST.
This event is for adults with SMA only, ages 18 and older in the US. Cure SMA staff will be reviewing each registration to confirm eligibility. Once approved, you will receive a separate confirmation email with your custom Zoom registration links and audio or e-book download. If you selected to receive a hard copy of the book, we will mail it to you right away.
Please reach out to email@example.com with any questions. We look forwarding to reading and discussing this book within the SMA community!
