Welcome to the Stephanie's Cure SMA Fundraiser, "Bravery for Cole"
My family is fundraising for Cure SMA because SMA impacts thousands of people around the world, including our son Cole, and Cure SMA does a wonderful job supporting the community.
Just for kicks, here are some current tidbits about Cole:

---Favorite Book---Garfield comics
---Favorite Shirt---Wolf t-shirt
---Favorite Outings---Swimming pool, arcades
---Favorite Lovies---Silver the wolf
---Annoying Habit---Laughing hysterically to be annoying
---Goal---"I want to walk! I want to research wolves someday."
---His thoughts on the half marathon---"I'm excited to have fun with my Mom and my helper!"
---His words to you---"Please help donate money so that maybe that will help me walk. I need to be able to walk to go out into the woods and research wolves someday. Thank you."
When Cole was diagnosed in 2011, we were devastated. Cure SMA jumped to action. They first mailed Cole a huge box of toys and gifts to benefit therapy and bring him happiness. They sent us information about the disease and even mailed my husband a packet in Afghanistan while he was on a deployment. They continue to send us informative newsletters so we can learn about new research and developments.
Over the years, Cure SMA has also invested an incredible $80+ million in research for ongoing new SMA drug programs, including Spinraza and Zolgensma. Cole is still receiving Spinraza at Colorado Childrens Hospital and is doing well! He knows it is important, but the study is still tough and scary at times and he detests needles and blood work. (I think we can all relate to that!) Cole endures things other children do not and remains brave. "Bravery" is the theme of our fundraiser this year, as Cole exhibits great bravery every day not only with the study but in daily life.
We'd love for you to join "Bravery for Cole" by running the race with us, providing a donation, or purchasing a commemorative shirt.
This is our 6th Cure SMA fundraiser and we are always grateful for the support from family, our surrounding community, and Stroller Warriors Running Club. Thank you in advance for honoring us with your thoughtful donation. You can also help spread the word by sharing our fundraising link on social media! The more people we reach, the more hope we have.
Keep the prayers coming for a cure! Thank you and remember to be brave no matter what happens! Cole can do it; so can we.
Much love and gratitude,
Brian, Stephanie, Caden, Cole, and Hailey Geraghty
