Jennifer Juon: Fundraising to support Graham Vollmer and Cure SMA!
I am fundraising for Cure SMA because of my friend, Graham Vollmer, who is living with Type 1 SMA.
You likely didn't know that SMA is the number one genetic cause of death for infants and 1 in 50 people in the United States is a genetic carrier.
Together, a group of friends have worked with Graham’s family to start a fundraising event dedicated to Graham and SMA. In 2017 we held our first Cure SMA Walk for Graham event just one week before Graham’s second birthday - the milestone of his second birthday is significant because there is a 95% chance that babies with Graham’s diagnosis don’t see their second birthday.
SMA impacts the lives of thousands of people and Cure SMA is an irreplaceable resource. Cure SMA has invested more than $75 million in research and has funded half of all the ongoing new drug programs for SMA, including Spinraza, the first-ever approved therapy for SMA.
This is our 3rd Annual Cure SMA Walk for Graham, and we are so grateful that each year our event has continued to grow. We cannot wait to see our friends, family and community member show up this year to help us raise money for SMA, and I would love my personal friends and family to be a part of it as well!
Join me by registering or donating today! Make a donation of $25 or more to support Cure SMA so they can keep providing these important programs and services for the community.
Thank you for joining me in the fight against SMA!
